Not long ago Hypnohealth conducted a small trial to see if hypnosis could in fact help form a healthy coping strategy to replace a maladaptive coping strategy for stress. Maladaptive is when you try to cope with stress by using a crutch that can possibly provide short term relief but in the long term can actually compound the situation, such as smoking, drinking and eating the wrong foods. The participants that responded all responded positively saying that after listening to a hypnotherapy recording for 14 days while drinking a healthy beverage they felt better able to cope with stress. Half of the respondents even said they felt ready to forgo their maladaptive coping strategy. This is good news for people who turn to unhealthy methods to cope with stress.
